Continue to Chiang Mai hotel and drive up to Doi Suthep – Pui National Park to the mountain with curvy road to see Doi Suthep Temple, the most important temple in Chiang Mai. In the past, the forest area around Doi Tung was destroyed by shifting slash-and-burn cultivation. Until 1987, Doi Tung Development Project was established according to the King’s mother initiative. A visit is made at the winter flower garden (Mae Fah Luang Garden), King’s mother villa and Hall of inspiration. Lunch is provided at the local restaurant. Then drive uphill to visit Yao and Akha tribal villages continue driving up Doi Mae Salong to Santi kiri KMT Yunan Chinese refugee settlement, with its tea and coffee plantations and also co-op store where home-made wines, medical herbs and other locally grown products sold The villagers are ethnic Chinese, descendent of KMT Nationalist Chinese arm regiment that took refuge in Thailand almost 50 years ago when communist forces won the civil war in mainland China. Day 2: Continue to Monkey cave, where you can feed the wild Monkey and releasing the fish to the river for Thai making merit. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Proceed to golden triangle area, where the border of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet. Visit also opium museum. Then take the speed boat-cruise along Mae Khong River to Donxao Island. then continue on to the old capital of Chiang Saen aged back to A.D. 1262 located on the steep bank of Mae Khong river opposite to Laos, to witness some magnificent ancient ruins and temple and then Leaving Chiang Saen, continue by road to Chiang Khong. Day 3: Phu Chi Fa is approximately 114 kilometers from Chiang rai, takes 2.5 hours., located at Amphoe Thoeng District. The Cool climate produces colorful flowering shrubs and the large meadow on the top provides breathtaking views of Laos. In addition, spectacular scenery can be seen from the sheer cliff of Phu Chi Fa, especially the sea of mist at sunrise. After breakfast, drive along the mountain to Phu Sang waterfall (warm waterfall), walk up to the peak and relax at hot spring before return to Chiangrai. Day 4 : In morning after breakfast down-hill visit Chiang Dao Cave where once it used to be the resting place for the Burmese soldiers troop before attacked Chiang Mai in mid of 1400s. Inside the cave, enjoy using your imagination to guest the shape of the stalacmite and stalactite in different shapes and from the cave. Go to Southof Chiang Dao to Mae Taman Elephant Camp; explore the spectacular mountainous scenery along the way. Enjoy Demonstrations of how trained elephants are used as working animals in teak forests. The show includes elephant bathing in the river, working in the jungle, elephant painting, dragging and pushing logs, and responding to commands.
