Begin your full day tour with a visit to the world famous White Temple. On to the Monkey cave, where you can feed wild monkeys and release fish into the river in a symbolic gesture to gain spiritual merit. Continue driving to the northern most point of Thailand, Mae Sai. At the Thai / Burmese trading border you’ll visit a  jade cutting factory and explore local markets, well known for products from southern China, Burma and Lao. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. The tour will proceed to the golden triangle, followed by a visit to the Opium Museum. The tour will continue with a speed boat cruise along the Mekong River to Don Xao Island (Lao) and on to the old capital of Chiang Saen (A.D. 1262). From the steep banks of the Mekong River, guests will witness magnificent temples and ancient ruins. 2,200

Drive up to the highest mountain peak on the Thai –/ Burmese border, Doi Tung (2,000m. above sea-level). Due to shifting slash-and-burn cultivation, the Doi Tung Development Project was established in 1987 as an initiative of the King’’s mother. A visit is made at Mae Fah Luang Garden, Royal Villa and Hall of inspiration. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Continue driving up to the northern most point of Thailand to the town of Mae Sai. At the Thai / Burmese trading border you will visit a jade cutting and polishing factory and explore a local market, famous for products from southern China, Burma and Laos. Your full day tour will conclude at Wat Doi Wao (aka Scorpion Temple), where you can view the bamboo carved Buddha Image and take in beautiful panoramic views of Thailand and Myanmar. 2,000

Lunch is arranged at Mae Kok River village resort on the Thai-Burmese border. After lunch, drive down to Pa Tai Lahu village for a 2 hour boat ride on the Mae Kok River. Continue on to the Akha tribal village. A stop will be made at the hot springs (at the entry to the Huay Makliam National Park). Leave your hotel for Mae kok boat trip by long-tail boat up to Karen hill tribe village, where you will start a two hour elephant trek into the woods, arriving at a Yao hill tribe village. Then take the local taxi or Song Taew to visit Akha village, to learn more about their lifestyle and beliefs. Guests will be provided with a picnic lunch or lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, enjoy a short hike up to the Hoe Maesai water fall, where you will enjoy a cool breeze, swimming and a short rest. Depart your hotel for a long–tail boat trip along the Mae Kok River to Baan Ruamitr Karen village, followed by a 2 hour elephant ride to the Red Lahu village. Picnic lunch is provided. Lunch will be followed by a walk through the forest to a nearby waterfall. Guests will enjoy a short rest in the beautiful surroundings while being cooled off by the mist of the waterfall. The full day tour continues with a visit to an Akha and Lahu tribe villages where guests will observe some of the hill tribe’s agricultural practices and learn more about their story at the Hill Tribe’s Museum. Depart your hotel by a car for the Karen hill tribe village. Guests will have an opportunity to take a walk around the village to observe the local culture and lifestyle. Continue on to Huay Makliam National Park and the Red Lahu village for a short rest. The trek continues up the hill and through the bamboo jungle to the Akha village and on to a nearby waterfall. Guests will take a local taxi to the Shan wet market in Burma. Continue onto Shwe Dagon Pagoda and Wat Sai Muang, where the bamboo weaved Buddha image is enshrined in the image hall. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Proceed to the golden triangle area and a visit to the Opium Museum. Guests will then take a speed boat cruise along the Mae Khong River to Don Xao Island.
